Hey Vikings Fans!
I’m The Jazzy One. My name is Jason, but some people call me Jazz. I originally created The Viking Ship right at the beginning of the 2009 season, and I’ve been writing here ever since. Before I created The Viking Ship I wrote for a blogging team called Content Quake. I was also the Vikings blogger there, and I’m sure some of you even followed me here from that site.
I’ve been a Vikings fan for a long long time. I grew up watching the Vikes with my dad from as early on as I can remember. I remember pretty clearly the day that Anthony Carter set the NFL single game post season record for receiving yards against the 49ers. I also remember Darrin Nelson dropping the pass from Wade Wilson in the endzone that would’ve beat the Redskins and sent the Vikings to face the Broncos in the Super Bowl the very next week. I remember being excited about the Herschel Walker trade. I remember watching Rich Gannon, or Jim McMahon, or Warren Moon throw for the Vikings. Of course I also remember the 1998 season as well, and I remember when Gary Anderson missed the kick that would’ve sent us to the Super Bowl (again, to face the Broncos).
As a kid I was a huge fan of Anthony Carter, Joey Browner, Chris Doleman, and Keith Millard. As I became a teenager my favorites were John Randle, Cris Carter, and Robert Smith. Now not a single Vikings game goes by when I’m not in front of the TV rooting for Jared Allen, Adrian Peterson, and Chad Greenway.
I’m a huge huge fan of the team. A lot of my friends would probably call me a Vikings geek… I wear purple and gold on every game day, and my office is completely decked out with Vikings stuff. Writing this blog is a good role for me to fill, and I plan on making it your favorite place for Vikings information!
