Cedric Griffin could be ready by the start of the season
Minnesota Vikings starting cornerback Cedric Griffin was injured while covering a kickoff in overtime of the NFC Championship game against the New Orleans Saints (just one of the many many things that went wrong for the Vikings). There were fears that Griffin would not be able to return to the team until half way through the 2010 season, leaving the Vikings in a rough spot with their defensive backfield.
The Star Tribune is reporting today that Griffin will be out 5 to 8 months. Well, the first game of the season is about 7 months from now, which means there is a decent chance that Griffin won’t miss any games. He will likely miss training camp, and might miss some preseason, but Vikings fans everywhere would breathe a sigh of relief if they didn’t have to watch their team play without Griffin in the backfield.
