I'm going to open up The Viking Ship to some user submitted posts! I think a lot of you out there probably have some great things to talk about, but maybe you don't have the time to keep up your own blog. Well, here's your chance to shine!

Leave your name, email address, and website address (if you have one), and write an article. When you submit it, I'll be notified that there's a potential article for me to look over, and if it follows the guidelines, I'll post it on the site.

And if you have your own blog, mention it in the article. Maybe you can attract some new Vikings fans to your site as well. I have no problem with you advertising your own site... as long as the article provides some good information for this blog as well. (meaning I probably won't post an article that just contains a link to your site without any other story to go around it).

What kinds of things should you write about? Anything Viking related! Here are some ideas (but don't feel the need to stay limited to these)

-Opinions on roster moves
-Memories of your favorite Vikings game
-What makes you the greatest Vikings fan ever
-Reasons why (player name here) is great... or not so great
-Reasons why (coach's name here) is great... or not so great
-A list of your favorite Vikings sites, and why they're so good.
-An article about places that Vikings fans might want to check out.

Here are the rules:

-No SPAM. I will for sure delete any article that doesn't offer some good information or opinion on the Vikings. You can post links, even if it's to your own site, but I need more than just a simple link to post an article.

-Keep it Family Friendly. That's important for me on this site. You can complain, you can express anger or irritation, but do it in a way that is rated PG.

-Write well. I probably won't post an article that uses text-speak... no "Wut r u doin?" type stuff. If you can't take the time to write "What are you doing?" in that case, then I probably won't take the time to post it.

-Keep it Vikings related. This one is obvious. It's a Vikings site, and I want it to stay a Vikings site. You can write about stuff that's happening around the league, but relate it in some way to something that Vikings fans would be interested in.

If you follow those simple rules, you'll probably get your article posted! I look forward to what you all have to say!

One last note... I will most likely be making some minor edits to your submitted articles. I won't change wording (unless it's to keep it clean), but I'll probably add some pictures, headings, titles, etc. I just thought it would be fair to let you know of that before hand.
