Welcome to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, John Randle!
We found out this weekend that former Vikings defensive tackle John Randle will enter the Hall of Fame this year. That makes for a pretty amazing story for Randle.
John entered the league in 1990, signing with the Minnesota Vikings after not being drafted out of college. During his career with the Vikings, he would go on to have double-digit sacks in 8 different years. He finished his NFL career with 556 tackles, 137.5 sacks, and 1 interception.
One of his biggest rivalries while in the league was with current Vikings quarterback Brett Favre (then with the Green Bay Packers). Randle sacked Favre more than any other quarterback during his career. Favre once said of Randle “on artificial turf he’s unblockable.”
The following YouTube Video shows a commercial where John Randle had a miniature Brett Favre jersey made for a chicken so he could use it in his training.
