The Minnesota Vikings finished the 2010 Preseason at 3-1.
The Minnesota Vikings played their final preseason game Thursday night, beating the Denver Broncos by a score of 31 – 24

Tarvaris Jackson Was Terrible
T-Jack went 2 for 8 for 2 yards on Thursday night. In his defense, two of those missed passes should have been caught and would have been for first downs, but the fact still remains that Jackson moved the ball 2 yards through the air.
Not Good
Sage Rosenfels Wasn’t Much Better
When T-Jack sat, Sage took over. Sage only played half as long and only threw half as many passes, but his 25% completion percentage was the same as Jackson’s. Sage went 1 for 4 for 10 yards.
Joe Webb… Still Fun To Watch
The game got MUCH more interesting when Joe Webb took over in the 4th quarter. Webb went 5/9 for 100 yards, including a 63 yard touchdown pass to Javon Walker. Webb also threw his first interception, but those kinds of things are bound to happen to a rookie sooner or later.
Webb also ran the ball 4 times for a total of 48 yards. One of those runs was a 41 yard carry that happened after a passing play fell apart.
I understand he’s raw… but he is fun to watch. Because I want Favre healthy all year, I hope there’s absolutely no opportunity for Webb to play this year… but I have to say, after the preseason he had, I’d almost feel better with him under center than Jackson or Rosenfels.
Almost.
But I’d be pretty happy to wait for a couple years to see him play in a regular season game.
Tim Tebow is Going To Be An NFL Quarterback
He’s going to prove many people (including myself) wrong.
I figured he’d end up playing at some point, but I didn’t think he’d be successful at it. After watching him play for about half a game yesterday, I’m convinced that in a couple years he could be a really talented player. He’s big, he’s strong, he’s smart, and he’s extremely accurate.
He made some mistakes against Minnesota, but like Webb, it’s to be expected, since he’s a rookie.
Our Defense Will Dominate
Last night’s passing defense as a little porous at times, especially in the second half, but that’s because the Vikings were playing a lot of guys that hopefully will NOT be on the field all at the same time at any point during the season. Most of our starters sat, and the front 7 still looked good. We’ll be a little thin at corner for the first game or two, but over all I think we’ll be just fine.
