Recently Adrian Peterson, who several people in the sports media world have called the best non-quarterback in the NFL, spent some time with NFL legend Jim Brown. After their time together, Brown said that Adrian Peterson was the best runner he had seen in a long time.
Some Chargers coaches showed the quote to LaDainian Tomlinson… you remember him… the guy that used to be the best running back in the league before Adrian came along… and Tomlinson didn’t like it a whole lot.
“The difference with me is you can put me out on that field and there will be nothing I can’t do,” Tomlinson told the Times. “I won’t have to come off the field. Adrian has to come off sometimes on third down. Running routes, he’s still not there yet. Great downhill runner, powerful, fast, all that stuff. . . .
“But anything on that field you want me to do — throw it, block — I can do it. That’s what I pride myself on is not having any weaknesses. And that’s what makes me the best back.”
While some of what he’s saying is true, does it seem that Tomlinson is a little jealous?
Chances are, Adrian Peterson won’t comment on the situation… or if he does, he won’t add any fuel to the fire.
